Inspiring Tomorrow's Innovators, Today!
January 31, 2021
Notes from our Director
Hello DATA community,
Hard to believe January has come to a close and we are already to February. Mrs. Lockamy, our DATA counselor, will be meeting with students this week, via English classes, to help them select courses for next year. If students are on-campus, she will meet with them in-person but if they are at-home, she will have zoom sessions with students to finalize course selection. She has placed helpful items for this process on slide 5 of her Bitmoji site, Mrs. Lockamy's Bitmoji Counselor's Information, for students to reference.
Be sure to take a moment to check student grades and any missing assignments as we begin the fifth week of this nine week grading period. Most credit recovery opportunities are coming to an end so be sure to check the due dates if you are working on this chance to regain credit for any classes.
If you did not come and take your yearbook photo this past week, we need your help with submitting a selfie for the yearbook. Details for how to do that are listed below. All selfies for the yearbook are due this Friday, February 5. Thank you for helping us out with this request.
Juniors, we again encourage you to take advantage of an opportunity to take the SAT test for FREE. The test will be given on campus on March 24 to any juniors who sign up by February 14. Details for how to sign up are listed below as well as included in the Junior Google Classroom. Here is the Junior Google Classroom Code: v7t3z54 to stay up to date with many junior details.
Thank you for reviewing the many details and reminders included below. Please continue to stay safe. If you have specific questions, please feel free to reach out.
Stay well,
Lori Murach

Underclassmen yearbook photos needed by Feb. 5
During this historic school year, we provided two ways for students in grades 9-11 to get their photos into the 2020-2021 yearbook. If you did not come to the campus this past week to take your photo, WE NEED YOU to submit your own photo. Below are the details for how to do this so your photo is in the yearbook.
Our yearbook publisher, Walsworth, has partnered with High5 ID to allow students to take and submit a selfie through their system. That system is open now and will remain open through Feb. 5, 2021. To launch and take a selfie for the High5 system, follow this link:
Selfies must meet the following criteria:
- In focus with even lighting, and a plain or neutral background
- Student should be facing the camera (not a profile or side angle)
- Image should be NEISD dress code compliant
- Only the student in the image (no additional people or pets)
- Taken without filters
- No obscene gestures, words, or images in the background (hands should not be in the image)
Images that do not meet the criteria will be rejected and you will be prompted to submit a new image before the deadline.
If you have any questions, please contact TR yearbook advisor Mrs. Boerger at aboerg@neisd.net
