Notes from the Principal

Thanksgiving is Almost Here!

It is hard to believe that we are only one week away from our Thanksgiving Break! What a challenging but successful school year we have had so far. As always, Boone has faced whatever challenges we have encountered and pushed through to success. As we approach Thanksgiving, I am truly thankful for being the principal of this great school and that we have such a wonderful community that supports us. Together, we truly wrap our students with blankets of love and support.

From the teachers, to the students, to the parents – THANK YOU!!! Despite everything, we have continued to rise above and keep moving forward. Boone Bears Rock!!!

Library Lines

Hello Boone Families,

Our fall Book Fair is coming December 6th - December 10th! See more about our fair on our homepage here.

Book Fair hours, payment options, and volunteer opportunities can be found on our homepage.

We need your help to make this event a success. Please click here to sign up to volunteer. The most critical days for us to have help are Thursday, December 2, Monday, December 6, and Friday, December 10. All volunteers will receive 15% off any purchases.

All students will come home with a wish list on Monday, December 6. Parents are encouraged to use eWallet. You can set up your eWallet as early as November 15. We are attempting to make this fair cash free due to Covid concerns. Parents are able to pay with credit cards during our after school hours. eWallet is the safest and easiest way to pay. You can sign up for an eWallet here. You will enter the amount you would like your child to spend. It will not let your child exceed the amount you designate. We will help them get as close as they can to that amount so that you are getting the most out of your money. Any left over change/money that your child does not spend will stay in your account for the next fair. You may also donate your leftover change to All for Books which donates money to students at our school who are unable to shop. When you set up your eWallet please designate if you would like to donate the change or keep it in your account. Click the video link here to see how it works.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns.

Michelle Lightbourn

We hope to see you all here! Book Fair proceeds fund our wonderful library clerk, and help us purchase books, supplies, and STEM materials for our library.

Give our teachers and staff a show of appreciation and thanks. We would like to send them home with a dessert to have for the holiday break. If you could donate a pie or two, it would be greatly appreciated. Please drop off pies Friday, November 19th from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The school no longer does curbside, so you will need to come to the door and ring the doorbell and the office will come get them from you.

If you know any local businesses who would like to partner with Boone for a Spirit Night, please reach out to Luci at

Please join us on Saturday, November 13 from 9:30-11:30 to help seed the butterfly garden field with wildflowers. This is a come and go event. We need 2 volunteers at 9a and 11:30a for set up and take down.

Getting our kids outside for lunch is a top priority for Boone PTA. It breaks up the monotony of being stuck inside and provides a safer lunch environment in the pandemic. We'll need LOTS of parent volunteers to make this happen! There are three 1-hour shifts each day; sign up for one or for all that you're available. Be sure to also complete the district background check at least 5 days before your first shift and bring your Photo ID when you check in at the front office.

RAVE about our Teachers & Staff

"The Recognizing All Valuable Employees or RAVE Program was created to honor those who take the extra steps to provide equitable and exceptional experiences.
