THE ENERGY BUS FOR KIDS BY JON GORDON
Methacton Award of Excellence
Over the next few weeks, we will highlight one award recipient each week. This week, please join me in congratulating Mrs. Shannon Snyder, School Counselor!
Shannon Snyder served as school counselor for Worcester since the building was reopened in the Fall of 1999. During one of our first meetings, Shannon and I discussed our 20th Anniversary. She offered her assistance and has led our committee to plan and facilitate our 20th Anniversary event, which was facilitated on December 3, 2019. In addition, Shannon coordinated a presentation from NED. This assembly was presented at no cost to the school or district. Students enjoyed a powerful message from NED who reminded us to:
Never give up.
Encourage others.
Do your best!
After the assembly, Shannon facilitated a yo-you sale with the proceeds being used to โpay it forwardโ so another school could benefit from the wise words of NED. Thank you, Shannon!
Student Ambassadors
Five School Board Directors (Elizabeth Drummond, Andrew Maginnis, Ralph Navarrete, Semira Perdue, and Paul Winters) visited Worcester on Friday, January 24th.
Our special guests were greeted by our student ambassadors, John Fields and Mya Buxton.
John and Mya gave a tour of our building, highlighting our points of pride including but not limited to our Worcester School Pledge, Our School-Wide Expectations (Safety, Respect, Responsibility, and Kindness), our Family Tile Project, and the Mosaic, which was recently created by members of our Sparkle Club!
A special thank you to our student ambassadors!
