Violent Video Games

Jacinda Deel

Brief Summary:

Violent video games effect the gamers because they contain both mental and physical effects, neurological effects, and researches by professionals that have been proven to be an effect of an excessive amount of violent game play.

Research about the behavioral effects:

A number of studies from the 1990s and early 2000s, showed that playing violent video games lead, at least in the short-term, to more-aggressive attitudes, emotions, and actions (When Killing).

Brad J. Bushman, a Ph.D. at Ohio State University says

"We can't say whether the games lead to violent criminal behavior. But we know they lead to aggressive behavior and thinking."

My Opinon:

Being aware of the effects of video game violence would be informing to parents because they can directly prevent their child from being apart of these type of games and preventing aggressive behavior.
