Benchmark Testing
We started last month and are finishing the first week of March with Benchmark tests.
We made our testing environment as similar to STAAR as we could. TEA is allowing for oral administration for our English Language Learners and students with documented reading difficulty so we worked to make these groups for our Benchmarks as well. We will use the testing data we receive to target instruction in this last push before STAAR.

TEA post
The #IAmTXEd campaign collects and shares the stories of Texas educators on Tuesdays whose work is leading to greater student outcomes and achievements. The social media posts are shared statewide each week via the Texas Education Agency Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
We will continue to use this platform to display the great things going on at Phillips for our kiddos.
Art Show/Open House
On February 28, we held our first Art Show in conjunction with our Open House. We had over 400 visitors. Every hallway was adorned with beautiful pieces our students made. Karla Powell, our Art teacher, did a fabulous job coordinating and making this special evening for our students and families happen.
Ron Clark Academy
I just wanted to thank you for allowing me to go on such a life changing trip. The Ron Clark Academy was truly an amazing and inspiring place for an educator to experience. I will not ever look at school quite the same after seeing the teacher and staff engagement I was honored to witness. I look forward to sharing a little of the magic of Ron Clark with my staff.
