Driving Directions
The main unit of the park is located 11 miles east of Uniontown, Pennsylvania on U.S. Highway 40. The visitor center, reconstructed Fort Necessity, Mount Washington Tavern and picnic area are located in the main unit of the park.

Dress: Please dress appropriately for the weather and for touring the fort outside. We will have this outing rain or shine!

COST $5.00 entrance fee for parents
$1.00 tour fee for students

RSVP: Please RSVP to by Wednesday November 6th with the names of all who will be attending,

Purpose of Outing: Social/Educational

Students may claim 90 minutes of History and 30 minutes of LA for the OLS.

Learning Objectives

Students will learn about the opening of the French and Indian War that happened at Fort Necessity.
Students will take a guided tour of the fort.
Students will engage in social time with their peers as they discuss what they have learned.

Reminders for PA Virtual Events

1: In consideration of our students with serious allergies, please refrain from bringing nut (food) products and balloons.

2: As always, to limit the spread of possible flu, please do not attend a PAVCS event if you have had a fever within 24 hours of the event.

3: For safety: All students need to be accompanied by a parent or learning coach. All students must wear shoes/sneakers for the entire school event and please refrain from bringing pets.

4: If there is a possibility of severe weather, please check Blackboard the day of the event in case the event is cancelled due to weather.

5: All PAVCS events are tobacco free.
