WOW! What a great week we had! You all came ready to work hard and have fun! It was so fun to see all the growth and improvement this past week!

Week 2 starts tomorrow! This week the weather is going to be warmer. Our #1 priority is your safety and well-being, but it is important that you help yourself; hydrate and give yourself the proper fuel for the day.

All students will be at WHS for camp this week! Please check the schedule below for the daily breakdown. Please note that the days/blocks are longer. Please plan accordingly with your lunch and snacks. When you arrive on campus, please make sure that your water is full.

It was great to see each of your families at Supply order day on Saturday. If you could not make it and need to order supplies, please email Allison Putnam (booster-VPStudentAffairs@wakelandband.com) to place your order.

Freshman and Sophomores (also Jr/Snr that missed) brass/woodwind/percussion, your uniform fitting will be at WHS on Saturday from 9:00a-12:00p

Please follow that schedule below for your appointment time. If you cannot make your specific time, come as you can with in the daily window.

Coming up in August is Kit Kamp for our incoming freshman. Students, you will attend Kit Kamp and return with the band during the "classroom tour". During one of the meals breaks, the leadership team will help you find your classes around the building.

All other students will attend rehearsal during Kit Kamp.

All communication from band will primarily come from this newsletter. There are certain servers who are blocking the newsletter; sbc, yahoo, att, and a few others. If you have a family member that is not receiving the emails, please notify them that it is being blocked.

Best way around the issue to create a google email and let us know to add you to the mailing list.

All reminders, schedule updates, location updates and other announcements that come out in the week after the newsletter is sent will come from remind 101.

We will have a parents only Remind Text group and a student only text group.

All families must have at least 1 parent/guardian enrolled to receive text message updates from the band.

We are all back at Wakeland High School this week!! Thank you to Cobb Middle School for all of their help in providing a location for us to practice this Summer.

Battery has a pep-gig this Wednesday at The Star. I have T-Shirts for each of you!!! Please plan to arrive by 7:30a with your drum and stand. Location details and set up details will be communicated very soon. You will be allowed to arrive back to Camp at 10:00a that day.

Camp this week is from 8:00a-5:00p with lunch from 12:00p-1:30p.

Midwest preparations for our Percussion Ensemble Performance in Chicago continue this week! We will be rehearsing different ensembles each day 6:00p-8:00p Monday-Wednesday. Ensemble rehearsals days and times can be found below.
