Feeding Program Update
We are aware of the conflict of meal distribution with virtual class meetings, and we regret that we do not have a perfect solution to this problem. In an effort to improve the situation, we are going to keep the two drive-thru “Grab & Go” sites running at Hugh Mercer and Lafayette Elementary schools (they were scheduled to end this week). Those two sites will be open from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. Families will be able to pick up multiple meals at one time, with some restrictions. It is also good for all families to know that parents can pick up meals without children present as long as they give their children's name (this applies to feeding sites and the Grab & Go locations). We hope this helps. To keep abreast of these kind of updates, check out the website below.

Student Spotlight: IB Diploma Graduates
On January 7, the administration and faculty of James Monroe awarded IB Diplomas to students who graduated in May 2020. To earn an IB Diploma, students must demonstrate excellence in writing, speaking, research, and self-management in all of their IB classes. Additionally, these students completed the requirements of the IB Diploma Core, which include approximately 150 hours of service learning, a 4,000 word research paper conducted outside of class time, and two years of instruction in Theory of Knowledge. The May 2020 class is also exceptional because the entire cohort earned the IB Diploma. This is a rare feat. Congratulations to the following students:
Elizabeth "Claire" Brady
Martin Crow
John "Jack" Hardy
Dean "Mac" Holland
Corbin Poyer
