Where the Adventure Begins...
HAPPY FRIDAY!!
Hey there! We had such a fun week for Red Ribbon week. Thank you to those who dressed your student in ways to participate. Speaking of dressing up...you are welcome to send your child dressed up on Wednesday, October 31st! We just ask that you send a change of clothes and make sure anything they wear is school appropriate and won't be too distracting for their school day. We can't wait to see everyone!
ONE AND DONE! Envelopes are still coming in! THANK YOU to those that are donating. We appreciate each and every donation.
If you haven't had a chance yet, or didn't see an envelope come home, we are asking for each family to make a one time donation to our school. You can send in cash or check in whatever amount you feel led to donate. We will send a receipt home for your records. If you don't have the original envelope, just send in your donation with a note that says One and Done.
We will use all the money toward materials for our classrooms that students will use directly. This will help us purchase books, manipulatives, toys that support motor development and social skills, and other classroom resources that will maximize learning. This is our once a year fundraiser so please consider making a donation to support ECS! This fundraiser will run until November 16th. Thank you, in advance, for supporting our school!
I know many of you will be enjoying some fun activities with your families this weekend! I hope you all have a blast. We will see you back on Monday!!

IT'S TIME TO VOTE!!
Did you know Frisco ISD is projected to add 12,000 more students in the next 5 years?
And Frisco knows that one size does not fit all. Visit www.friscoisd.org/bond-tre for more information on our proposal to know every student by name and need.
Parent Notes!
When you send a note to school about your child, please make sure to include your child's name, their teacher's name, and the date! This will help make sure we are documenting the right information for the right student. Also, don't forget that we must receive notes within 3 days of any absence for the note to count. Thanks so much for your help!
ECS Parent's Place
I love to make sure you this easy way to ask questions, share suggestions, and let us know what we're doing well!
Here is the link to the ECS Parent Place! It's an online "bulletin board" where you can post anything. I'll also post my responses. You can post or just pop in to see what other's are posting!

The Counselor Corner
Gratitude is something that can create solutions and can change our mindset. It encourages positive social behavior. This means that when a person has had a positive experience, they will likely want to reciprocate the positive actions to others. During guidance lessons Pre-K classes will learn about gratitude. Here are some fun reasons and ideas to support this skill at home. In a culture where everything is readily available with a click---shopping, researching information, and donating to a cause--- it may seem difficult for children to understand gratitude. However, it’s important to know that gratitude helps them to develop skills like optimism, resilience, and problem solving. So, not only does this make for a great student, but builds skills needed in the workforce. Teaching gratitude can be as simple as writing a thank you note or helping to take care of a plant or a pet. And of course, another tradition that can be passed down from one generation to the next is to go around the dinner table and each person can share for what they are thankful.
PPCD classes will continue to participate in the Baby Doll Circle Time Program. We will focus on impulse/emotional control, prioritization, and flexibility. These skills are a foundation to many social skills including gratitude.
