When it comes to salary negotiation, most everyone feels intimidated by the process. There are several factors to consider when it comes to negotiation including; your geographic location, industry area, job title and skills, as well as the employer's salary grade and the values/benefits of the company.
In the session, you will learn about the resources and tools to help you research these different areas. You will also learn tangible conversation starters to begin the negotiation process and learn how to use your research to effectively communicate your worth to a new employer or an existing employer to get the salary you deserve. Southern Teachers Agency is now recruiting graduating students who have the potential to become good teachers at independent schools around the South.
Here’s what to expect:
- Southern Teachers already has openings listed for the 2018-19 academic year, and they're expecting more than 3,000 jobs in total.
- It can take a bit of time to progress from applicant to active candidate with Southern Teachers: they review each application individually, accept the candidates they believe they can help, interview each accepted candidate to understand his/her unique job search, and then check his/her references. With this understanding of what a candidate can do and also wants to do, Southern Teachers can place young teachers in jobs where they will have potential for success in the classroom.
- This year Southern Teachers will host a Job Fair for their active candidates on February 3 in Atlanta, GA.
In order to take advantage of all these opportunities—and our Atlanta Job Fair—apply by Thanksgiving to become a candidate with Southern Teachers.
Southern Teachers is the premier placement agency for private schools in the South. Since 1902, we have helped tens of thousands of teachers—both rookie and experienced—find jobs from Maryland to Miami to Midland, Texas.
Services are free for candidates. Candidates do not necessarily need a teaching license or education major to be hired.

The English Opens Doors Program’s Volunteer Initiative, is a fee-free opportunity from the Chilean Ministry of Education, supported by the United Nations Development Programme-Chile. The English Opens Doors Program is seeking native and near-native English speaking volunteers (above the age of 21) to teach English in coordination with Chilean teachers of English in public schools throughout Chile. Volunteers will work independently with students from 11 to 18 years old, and no previous teaching experience is needed to apply!
English Opens Doors Program volunteers spend approximately 35 hours per week focusing on developing students’ communicative abilities in English using a dynamic teaching style, facilitating intercultural exchange, and generally making English fun to learn! Volunteers will gain real teaching experience in a Latin American country through a United Nations sponsored program, while simultaneously learning (or improving their) Spanish-language abilities and getting to know an incredible country with a wealth of cultural and geographical beauty. More importantly, the English Opens Doors Program will give volunteers the opportunity to make a positive impact in a public school community, and to change their own lives in the process.
For more information about this volunteer initiative, please check out our website at: http://www.centrodevoluntarios.cl/
