Principal's Update SD ECLC 2021
Remote Learning Continues....
All Hazlet Township Public schools will continue remote learning January 4- January 8, 2021. In person learning for students is scheduled to resume on Monday, January 11, 2021.
Thank you for your continued support during remote instruction. Preschool and Kindergarten students ARE LEARNING! We continue to measure student progress with digital tools such as Raz-Kids, ESGI, Math Seeds, Reading Eggs and Seesaw. During parent teacher conferences teachers shared personalized learning targets for your child. Students received their first report cards! We began a targeted reading program for Kindergarten students to support literacy learning goals. We opened an additional section preschool to provide increased learning opportunities for 3 and 4 year old's. I am proud of every student's success.
With that said, I understand the striking impact that remote learning has had on your work and home lives. During virtual lessons, in order for young children to stay on task to learn, parent partnerships are more important than they have ever been. This is why the SDECLC team continues to seek out new ways to engage students while connecting with families. Student assignments, gifts, projects, crafts and iPads have circulated through the school lobby on scheduled "pick up" days. Our PTO found a way for Santa to visit children's homes safely and raise funds for our school. Teachers and paraprofessionals made home visits to ensure that students have instructional materials, meals, and even gifts for Christmas. We celebrated Virtual Grinch Day and Virtual Polar Express Day and had a Virtual Jingle Bells Sing a long! We will continue to be creative and brave in the face of difficult times. I share these things because they demonstrate the care and concern that we have for each other within our school community. I am hopeful that the new year will bring health, safety and prosperity to us all.
Sincerely,
Mrs. G. Dorozynski
