Dear Families,
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday with your families. When I think about the things I'm grateful for, working with you and serving your kids are near the top of the list.
Thanks, as always, for sharing your kids with us; it is our honor to serve them!

From Manning Sources of Strength
Sources of Strength is running a Thankfulness campaign for the months of November and December. As part of our campaign we are doing a food drive for “The Hub,” which is a food bank within Stevens Elementary. They collect food, clothing, hygiene items, and schools supplies for all families who are in need of support services in Wheat Ridge and have a school aged Wheat Ridge student. Our Sources of Strength Peer Leaders and Adult Advisors will be collecting food in HEART classes through December 13. We will also be outside in the drop off and pick up areas before and after school on December 5th/6th and 12th/13th. We will deliver the food to The Hub on December 16th. Please help us make this time of year easier for our struggling families in Wheat Ridge. Our Sources of Strength Peer Leaders are very passionate about this project! We look forward to collecting your donations!
The Manning PTA is excited to announce our new multi-year fundraiser, “The March of the Mustangs!”
As most of you have experienced, our “vintage” auditorium seats are in desperate need of replacing. Anyone who has sat through an event in excess of 10 minutes is sure to agree that it is time for an upgrade! The auditorium is a highly utilized space. All students use this space for assemblies and enrichment programs. Approximately 80% of our students participate in band, orchestra, choir and/or musical theater. The auditorium is a first impression of our school for prospective families during information nights and all enrolled families during the spring meet-and-greet and back-to-school nights.
Not surprisingly, replacing our auditorium seats will be a very expensive endeavor. While we are all excited for our building expansion, unfortunately all recently passed bond dollars allocated to Manning will be needed to fund the new build. The expansion will replace the five current cottages and add one additional classroom.
So how much do we need to raise? $100,000. Yes, $100,000. This is an ambitious fundraising goal for any PTA, but we have full confidence that the Manning community will rally around this goal.
How you can help:
We are looking for additional volunteers to join our already positive and enthusiastic fundraising committee. Are you a creative thinker? Do you have auction experience? Do you love to plan fun events? Do you want to work alongside other fun and committed parents? We need you!
We will be hosting several fun fundraising events over the next 18 months. Come and join in!
We will be offering opportunities to “purchase” a new auditorium chair with an engraved plaque and engraved bricks.
Do you have questions?

Chromebook Announcement from Jeffco Public Schools
In the past, students have had access to personal Google accounts on their district-managed Chromebooks. Due to recent changes made by Google, Jeffco is no longer able to continue allowing students to have access to their personal accounts. Google’s changes would eliminate Jeffco’s ability to provide consistent web filtering on devices signed in with a personal account. The changes also eliminate the ability for Jeffco to manage extensions on devices signed in with a personal account. Both of these changes have the potential to allow access to extremely inappropriate content and could impact our students’ privacy.
We understand that students may need to access their personal Google files. To do this, students may share their personal Google files with their Jeffco (@jeffcoschools.us) account. Likewise, they may share files from their Jeffco Google account (@jeffcoschools.us) to their personal Google accounts. Students in grades 9-12 have the option to package all of their Google content via Google Takeout which has the ability to transfer emails, files, docs, photos etc. to a personal account.
Please reach out to Mrs. Edoff (Karen.Edoff@jeffco.k12.co.us) if you have further questions.

The Manning Auditorium Project
The Manning School of Academics and Arts, while formed in 2001, is housed in a building that was constructed over 60 years ago in 1958. The Manning School currently serves 675 students and their families, and at the heart of our school is the auditorium. Not only do we gather in the auditorium for concerts, plays and musicals (over 80% of our students participate in band, orchestra, choir and musical theater!), the space is used by all students for enrichment programs, assemblies and other school events.
Our auditorium is aged and in deteriorating condition, and we are seeking to raise $100,000 to replace the current seating over the summer of 2021 with new, more comfortable seats.
We want you to be a part of this effort which will give our school community an inviting performance and assembly space.
Stay tuned for more information. See you at the Holiday Music Collage on Tuesday, December 3rd at the Colorado School of Mines!

HONESTY
Joanna Gerow is always true to herself and lives with integrity!
I appreciate how Alex Kubacki always speaks his mind and stands up for what's right!
EFFORT
As 6th grade was headed inside from recces, a wasp followed me in and it was on my head. But Jillian H. took the time and showed effort by using my lunch box and getting it off my head, and taking it outside. Thank you Jillian!
Seth Hertel was in my science class and a student at his table dropped all of her pencils on the ground. This hero and savior stepped in to save the day. He picked all the pencils that fell on to the ground one by one closer to saving the day.
ACHIEVEMENT
Mrs. Templeton's Speech and Debate class did an incredible job on their Lincoln Douglas debates! It was a difficult, stressful task, and they met the challenge with persistence and excellence. SO SO PROUD OF YOU!
RESPECT
Avery Greene & Reina Klatt spent their time outside picking up trash.
Clara Melancon is a great friend and is always by my side when I'm going through tough times.
TEAMWORK
During science, we were doing a game of jeopardy and me and my team were really struggling. Seth thought that we could use some help so he asked the teacher if he could join our team. He did and on all the questions I got wrong, he helped me to understand what I said and what was the right answer. Thank you Seth.
Thank you to Mrs. Burg, Ms. Agard, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Hughes, Mrs. Beattie, Mrs. Pouliot, Ms. Norton, and Ms. Gaines for giving up their plan time to judge Lincoln Douglas Debates! I appreciate your time and your feedback!
