Goodbye May... Hello June!
There is SO much going on. I hope you're ready to keep up with us...
First and foremost, the Kindness Club fundraiser for CHEO. Can you believe that just over two weeks ago we decided as a class to get this fundraiser together? In the time since then we have raised a whopping $2,621.84 for CHEO!! I couldn't be prouder, and I know the kids are feeling it too.
Here's the breakdown:
Great Glebe Garage Sale: $506
Spell-A-Thon Pledges: $1,057.92
Jenny's Donation to Match the Pledges: $1,057.92
Thank you all SO much for your contributions. Please try to return the pledges to school before Wednesday next week so we can give the money collected to Jenny. On June 10th we have a visitor coming from CHEO to accept the donation from our class. Anybody who would like to pop in and join in that is welcome to do so. Just send me a note and let me know.
On Wednesday, June 17th we will have a special presentation by our class as a tribute to Jenny and all that we have learned in Kindness Club this year. The presentation should take 45 minutes to an hour from approximately 12:00pm - 1:00pm. We hope you can join us then as well. Thanks to Noreen and David Loehr for your help in getting us set up for that presentation.
On Tuesday, June 16th from 4pm-6pm, Susan Dallin-O'Grady has planned a End of Year Celebration! She has sent home notices and waivers with the students. If you could return those her as soon as possible, or let her know if you didn't receive a form that would be great.
On Friday, June 19th we are heading to Vincent Massey Park for the day to participate in the Summer Solstice Pow-Wow. More information and permission forms to come soon. Just a heads up so you can book it off work if you need to! :)
Reminders for upcoming next week...
On Wednesday, June 3rd we will have Let's Talk Science workshops going on in our classroom surrounding the topics of Forces and Structures thank you to the generosity of Rhonda Walker-Sisttie for organizing that for us!
On Thursday, June 4th we will have the annual Grade 3 Chess Tournament. It will take up most of the morning and thanks to Richard and Noreen for coming in to volunteer for that!
Friday, June 5th is a PD Day! Enjoy!
Thanks again for your continued support.
Have a wonderful weekend,
