Mindset Monday
Happy Monday Everyone!
This week is a short week and I'm sure we are all looking forward to a little rest and relaxation. We will have our Veterans here on Tuesday traveling around to classrooms! We are excited to welcome them into the building.
Upcoming Holiday Parties:
1. We have a room parent who shared some concern that the kids did not have enough time for their crafts/party with starting dismissal so early (especially preschool). See email below with parent feedback:
"Would you consider starting the Christmas and Valentine’s Day parties at 1:45pm (with helper parents in at 130pm)? The Halloween party began at 2p, and we had to start packing up around 2:30p because of the way dismissal goes now with adding the preschoolers to the regular pick-up line. Our class was unable to do the Halloween craft because the snack and games took up the majority of the half hour. I know there is a lot of adjustments going on this year, so I figured I would ask"
Please let me know your thoughts!
2. I am limiting the number of parents who are able to participate as "volunteers" to 3 people who are selected by the homeroom parent. (Total of 4 adults per classroom) Home room parents will provide a list to the office and we will be signing people in.
Lesson Plans
Starting in November I will begin collecting weekly lesson plans. Please have your lesson plans for the week turned into me by MONDAY morning starting November 5th. You can submit them to me digitally via email or share them with me on Google Docs.
Lesson plan due dates for November are as follows:
Nov 19
Nov 26
The purpose of this is to ensure that our lesson planning reflects the important components of International Baccalaureate, continues to grow our inquiry-based approach and to better understand how each grade level is planning for student success.
