Private School Application Process UPDATE
Every year, we have a small group of students who apply to private schools. In order to clarify the process and the needs on our end, we have created two documents:
- an informational one about the process,
- and a form that the student fills out and shares with those teachers/ administrators who are writing a recommendation.
These two documents can be found by clicking here. They can also be found on the school web page under "Parents".
An update on some important points:
- A critical part of the process is for students to speak with teachers (from whom they are hoping to receive a recommendation) directly and to ASK them if they would be willing to write a recommendation (rather than assume). This both puts a piece of responsibility on the student and also puts it on the teacher's radar so that they can look for any digital requests for recommendations (which can go to Junk sometimes).
- All requests for recommendations and forms should be requested and shared with teachers by Thanksgiving vacation.
Thank you!
School Dance (Friday December 6): What to Expect
Overall dance guidelines/ rules:
- Students should arrive as close to 7:00 as possible.
- Pickup is at 9:00. Students must be picked up by a responsible adult. Walking home is not allowed. Students will be released at 9:00 from the dance. We ask that adults who pick up please do so right on time out of respect for our teacher chaperones, who deserve to get home themselves.
- If a student needs/ wants to leave the dance prior to 9:00, the responsible adult must come into school to dismiss directly from a staff member.
- We want students to be safe. School rules apply during the dance. If a student does not act in accordance with rules and overall safety, a parent will be contacted for immediate pickup and school discipline may result.
- Have fun!!

Parent Enrichment/ Learning Opportunities
"How to talk to your kids about sex"
The purpose of this information session is to give support to parents about how to talk to their kids about sex, what topics to cover at what age/developmental level and how to respond to common questions. We will also give tips and trick on when/where/how to have the talk with your child. We welcome parents of children of ALL ages to this talk, as information early on has proven to reduce risk-taking behaviors. This is presented by Lauren Sabella, our District Director of Behavioral Health.
