Parent Volunteers Needed

In an attempt to engage families about the educational opportunities at Franklin we are looking for parent volunteers willing to sit in on a "Fishbowl Discussion" to talk about your experience as a parent as well as your child's. A Fishbowl Discussion is a group discussion format with the intent to get multiple points of view through generated discussion topics and equity of voice. The date for the event is Monday, November 20 from 6:30-8:00PM at Franklin. We will follow-up with more information for interested parents.

Dance Marathon

Dance Information

Franklin will be hosting its eleventh dance marathon on Friday, November 10th, 2017 from 1:30-3:30 P.M. in the lower gym. It is open to ALL Franklin students and admission is only $5.00. For those new to Franklin, this is not your average middle school dance. No awkward slow dances, no waiting to be asked to dance, and no talent necessary! All students are expected to dance as fast as they can and as much as they can, with appropriate breaks for snacks of course!

Money Mash

The dance marathon Money Mash competition will start on Monday and run through Thursday, November 9th.

Prizes will be awarded to the home room with the highest positive total each day. Students in the home room with the highest POSITIVE total at the end of the competition on Thursday will receive a certificate for a free slice of pizza at the dance.

Each grade level has a winning home room, so pay attention to the announcements and the signs posted near homeroom doors to keep track of your home room’s progress. Start checking the sofa cushions for change and help your home room be a winner each day! Your efforts will help kids with an even bigger fight - beating cancer. So have some good fun and do some good at the same time.

Bake Sale

The Dance Marathon Bake Sale begins next week and we are in need of donated baked (or bought) items. Please ask your students to bring any form of the following items: Chocolate Chip Cookies, Cupcakes, Little Debbie’s Snack Cakes, Pop, Water, Cheese Balls, Rice Krispy Treats, Oreos, Candy Bars, Pop Tarts, Doughnuts.

Days for bake sale:

  • Tuesday Nov. 7th (Basketball Concessions)
  • Thursday Nov. 9th (Basketball Concessions)

  • Friday Nov. 10th (During Dance Marathon 1:30-3:30)
