A few words from our Superintendent, Dr. Kenneth Bradshaw

It's great to be back in Augusta! I am excited about this school year and the great things going on in the Richmond County School System! I have been out visiting schools and have met with many parents, teachers, departments, and administrators; we have some of the greatest educators and students in the state, and I know we are headed in the right direction. I have enjoyed the warm reception from the community and anticipate a year of growth and promise.

Our 2020 Teacher of the Year!

Congratulations to our 2020 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Shatara Sims! Mrs. Sims is a 5th grade math teacher at A. Dorothy Hains Elementary School. In addition to supporting her students during regular school hours, Mrs. Sims dedicates many of her Saturdays to tutoring and helping students succeed. We are honored to have Mrs. Sims as an educator and advocate for the students of Richmond County!

Dr. Wayne Frazier

Since 2016, Dr. Wayne Frazier has served on the RCBOE and has been an advocate for the students and teachers of Richmond County. Born 1 of 11 children in Louisiana, Dr. Frazier served in the Army, taught school, and served as a school administrator. When asked about his experiences as a student, Dr. Frazier shared a story about his high school principal, Mr. Albert M. Moody: "He played a monumental role in my life by making me feel loved and accepted." Dr. Frazier has dedicated his life to mentoring and teaching so other families can understand the importance of love, family, and education.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and cooking Louisiana seafood gumbo—a treat we have heard a lot about! He loves Augusta for its small-town feel and wide-open spaces. He enjoys working in his community and looks forward to continued community engagement.
