Car Rider Drop-off, Pickup & Walkers
- All Car Riders should drive to the front of NFES off of Motter Ave.
- For your child's safety, please only allow your child to exit the car when you have pulled up in front of NFES.
- Please do not drop off your car rider at any location other than in front of NFES with our staff. Please do not park along Fairview or Motter to drop-off your child.
- You do not need a car rider tag to drop off as a car rider.
Car Rider Pick-Up
- Please pull up to the curb in front of NFES to pick up your child at dismissal between 2:50 and 3:15. We do not want students walking where there is no sidewalk or NFES staff member.
- Please do not park along Fairview or Motter to pick-up your child. Only walkers will be dismissed to these locations.
- If you don't have a car rider tag, we will give one to you on the first day of school. Please have picture ID ready. If you are not the parent/guardian, you will be asked to pull off so we can confirm you as an authorized person to pick up the child.
How can you help our car line move more efficiently?
In the Morning:
- Say your goodbyes prior to a staff member opening your door
- Shoes should be on and backpacks should be ready to grab
- Please do not allow your child to unload until a staff member opens the door
In the Afternoon:
- Please stay off your cell phone while in the car rider line
- Please follow staff directions and pull all the way up
- Parents should not get out of the car. If you have a younger child who needs to be buckled, please pull all the way up so we don't hold up the line.
- If someone other than parents are picking child up, please call the front office prior to 2:00.
Walkers
Walkers will be dismissed between 3:00-3:10. Please only list your child as a walker if they will be walking home. Please do not list your child as a walker if you are planning to drive to pick them up. Safety first! We want your child to be supervised until you can get to them. You can pick up as a car rider between the hours of 2:55-3:15 daily. Students who are assigned a bus, should not be listed as a walker. Parents may choose to list them as car riders.
Bus Riders
Please check bus information using this link - https://www.fcps.org/transportation/bus-stop-information-online
- Some bus numbers have changed from last year. Please check the link above and recognize your child might have a new number.

PTA Restaurant Nights Return with Cafe Bueno August 30th!
The PTA’s first restaurant night of the school year will be at Cafe Bueno on Wednesday, August 31st. From 11am to 9pm, 20% of all dine-in or carry-out orders will benefit our school when you mention North Frederick Elementary PTA.
Friends and family members are encouraged to help support this event!
PTA Volunteer Needs
One of the ways you can help our school is by signing up to volunteer for one or more of our PTA committees or events. Volunteering is a fun way to share your skills and talents, meet new friends, and make a difference at NFES. Whether you have a lot of time or a little, we have a role for you.
Teacher Appreciation: We need help throughout the year in our efforts to show support and appreciation to our teachers and staff. Specifically, putting in orders for meals and/or picking up and setting up at the school.
Trunk or Treat: Did you love last year's Trunk or Treat event? Do you have ideas for this year's event and want to make it a success? Volunteer to help out in October.
Scholastic Book Fair: The PTA hosts two Scholastic Book Fairs a year. Without the help of volunteers, we cannot put on these family-favorite events. Volunteer to work a 90-minute shift or to help set up/break down.
Cultural Arts Night: Cultural Arts Night is an evening to enjoy entertainment and cuisine and enhance student understanding of different cultures. A team of parents and/or staff is needed to bring this event to fruition.
MET Play: Every year the PTA partners with the Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) to put on a spring play for the 2nd-5th graders. We need a parent to be the PTA rep for helping organizing the play.
Family Movie Nights: We will need help planning and executing three family fun movie nights throughout the year (November, January and March).
