Confucianism in Chinese Society
Confucianism is a religion that dates back to the fifth century BCE. The religion, more commonly recognized as a philosophy, was founded by Confucious. Confucianism has influenced modern Chinese society and traditions substantially. Confucious taught the five relationships of Confucianism practiced in China. These five relationships have shaped social life in China. Confucianism also established China as a male-dominated country, where women were not allowed the same basic rights as men.
