We are no longer switching students from digital to in-person learning at Benefield. We understand that needs change and that digital learning is not for every student. In those cases students will be permitted to return to in-person learning after the first nine-weeks.

If you have extenuating circumstances and would like for your child to return to in-person learning after the first nine-weeks, you may contact Mrs. Stevens via email at and/or reach out to your child's grade level AP with the following information:

  • Student name
  • Student number
  • Grade level
  • Teacher

Congratulations Ms. Nelson and Mr. Campbell!!

Ms. Nelson is our Teacher of the Year and Mr. Campbell is our Support Person of the Year.

Grading Guidance

On Friday, September 25, you should have received your child's progress report via email. This report reflects your child's mastery of the AKS since August. You can visit the Parent Portal to access your child's current grades:

Please refer to our grading policy for how to best support your child. If you have questions about your child's grades, please reach out to your child's teacher. Please keep reading to find out more about our grading policy.

Digital Learning Tip

Parents, please be mindful that digital learning is school for your students. While assisting your child is welcomed and appreciated, just as you wouldn't sit in their classroom, you're encouraged to allow them to independently engage in their online learning as well.

Be mindful of your student's classmates who may not feel comfortable engaging in a learning environment with adults other than their teachers present.

As part of Gwinnett County Public Schools’ family engagement initiative, the school district seeks to empower parents with tools that allow them to help their children at home. Our AKS at Home project provides math and language arts resources to support families so that they truly are partners in their children’s learning. This support is available for families to access in the format that fits them and their schedule best. They can attend live virtual meetings, view recorded information at a time that best fits their schedule, or gain tips and suggestions on how to best help their students through tip sheets on a wide variety of topics.
