Dear Parents / Carers,
We have had another very busy week in school this week starting with a visit from our Diocesan adviser. She had a good look at a selection of our RE books, reviewed our RE curriculum and had a tour of our classes. I'm happy to say that she was very pleased with all that she saw and commented on how far the school has progressed since our good SIAMS Inspection back in 2019.
On Thursday 50 of our Key Stage 2 pupils took part in the Inter-schools Cross Country heats at Riverside school. They all did very well and we are very proud of them. Several of the children have made it through to the next round of competition so good luck to them.
Also on Thursday I attended a conference on Safeguarding for schools in North Yorkshire. It was a real eye-opener for me in terms of what even our youngest children are exposed to online. If you have any questions or concerns about online safety, please do ask.
Finally, today we have held our first non-uniform day of the year in order to raise awareness of World Mental Health. Funds raised will be donated to Childline to support children directly. Please speak to your child about their understanding of mental health and the things they can do to support being mentally healthy.
Have a lovely weekend,

Message from Head Pupils
This week has been a sporty and very busy week. We had a cross country event for 50 students from years 4, 5 and 6. A couple of students from each class made it through to the next round where they will be doing another race. We have also had a non-uniform day on Friday to raise money for mental health week where the students brought in a donation for the charity Childline. Friends of Kirk Fenton raised money through a donut and bear sale and there was also a book sale.
Head Pupil certificates went to Tom from Coelho and Scarlett from Rosen.

Cross Country
This week, we visited Riverside school for the first leg of our Cross Country competition. We took children from Year 4, 5 and 6 and they did a fabulous job representing our school. We showed amazing stamina and perseverance as we ran either 1,200m or 1,500m. I was really pleased to hear how encouraging we were towards one another and even to competitors from other schools. I was really proud of everyone who participated, well done!
Special congratulations go to Connie C, Oliver H, Ella K, Emma E, Freddie C, Eli L and Freya C who were awarded medals for finishing in the top 5. We are very excited to see how they do in the next round.
