Teacher Spotlight: Mrs. Melissa Sheedy

Every week we will shine a spotlight on one of our very own Hometown Staff members. This week we will meet Mrs. Melissa Sheedy.

How long and what grades have you taught?

I have been a teacher for 26 years. This is my 7th year at Hometown. I have taught first grade and second grade. I have also been an LST and Reading Recovery Teacher.

What is the best thing about working at Hometown Elementary?

The best thing is the staff. They are incredibly kind and hard working.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is Resses's Peanut Butter Cups.

Who is someone you admire and why?

I admire my sister. She became a teacher just a few years ago because she wanted to help children learn and grow socially and emotionally. She shows that you can always follow your dreams. Fun Fact: I have an identical twin sister!!

If you see Mrs. Sheedy around the school make sure you say hello!!

STEM Camps

See the attached flyers for our students to be able to attend the STEM camps at the different schools. This is another great opportunity for our children to use their knowledge.
