A Message from the Principal

We made it! Our first week of virtual learning is about to conclude. I am incredibly proud of how well everyone is supporting each other with this unprecedented educational journey. The staff is working hard to make this experience positive and motivating for our scholars. I can't tell you how difficult it is to walk into the school building each day without the smiles, laughter, chatter and energy from our students. However, I keep telling myself that this is temporary and how amazing that day will be when it comes. Please know that all of us at CES are here for you. Reach out if you need anything. We need to continue working together. #teamwork

Student Material Pick: Round 2

We have some additional items that our students in grades 1-5 ONLY will need for virtual learning. Kindergarten will have a separate pick up scheduled later in September. Please follow the directions below for this next pick up.

When: Thursday, September 10 from 9-10:30am and 1-2:30pm

Where: CES Bus Loop (side entrance of the building)

Who: All students in grades 1-5 have items to pick up

Please write your child's name and teacher on paper to place in your passenger dash. We will be collecting this paper to track our pick ups. Remain in your vehicle and someone will bring the materials to you. If you are unable to pick up at our schedule date/time you are welcome to have another parent pick up the materials for you or visit the office any day from 8-4pm starting September 11 to get your items.

Important: Form to Complete

If you haven't yet completed the permission form for Google Meet Recordings, please do so by Tuesday, September 8. It may be helpful to know that the LIVE sessions may not be recorded in their entirety. Instead teachers would record only the direct instruction portion and not the practice or discussion portion of the lesson.

Meal Service at CES

Centerville Elementary School is a meal site providing free "to go" breakfast and lunch service through December 2020 to all children ages 18 and younger. FCPS will also provide meals for adults 19 and older who are enrolled in an FCPS program for people with disabilities. Parents may pick up a student's meal from 11 AM- 1 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Regarding Labor Day: FCPS will provide meals Friday, September 4 for Monday September 7 when kitchens are closed. Kitchens will re-open Tuesday September 8 to provide "to-go" breakfast and lunch for that day. Children do not have to be present. A parent, guardian or other designated person can pick up food for children. Parents/guardians or children will enter the school cafeteria at CES using the side entrance and pick up the food in the kitchen serving line. Masks must be worn by all children and adults entering the cafeteria, and family groups must stay 6 feet apart from other family groups. The food server will do all of the food handling. All food will be compartmentalized or individually wrapped.
