Teacher Requests - Due March 17, 2023
It is hard to believe we are already at the point in the year when we begin planning next year's class lists. We would like to explain our expectation for parent requests in class placement for the 2023-2024 school year.
- Parents need to submit a request on the Google Form by Friday, March 17. The form will be turned off after March 17 and requests will no longer be accepted.
- You may not request a teacher by name.
- Please describe the learning style of your child and what type of teacher you feel best matches your child's learning style.
- If there are other students you don't want your child placed with, you may request this. Please give the reason why these students shouldn't be placed together (this request will need to be made annually by a parent).
House of Malachite Week
The week of March 13-17 will be the week we honor the House of Malachite. Here are few of the special things we have planned for the week:
- Monday, March 13 WEAR GREEN
- Tuesday, March 14-Thursday, March 16 classrooms will complete a Tic Tac Toe Inspiration Board
- Friday, March 17-Students will sit with their houses during lunch
During Malachite week, the SCE House Leaders will be selling LUCKY CHARMS! From March 13th-17th. students may purchase a single charm or a class set before school. This is a wonderful way for your kiddos to show each other how lucky they are to have someone like them in their lives! All proceeds will go to funding 2023 5th grade camp and learning at SCE. Below you will find a PDF to send with your student to order Lucky Charms. Money can be cash or a check written to Stone Creek Elementary School.
Congratulations WSD Art Students
Congratulations to all of the students who received recognition at the Youth Art Month Celebration in Jefferson City. A very special shoutout goes out to SCE's very own Savannah Connors and Robin Eplin. We are very proud of you!
From the Counselor's Desk
Do you know about Parent Education Services? They have classes that are specifically designed to address emotional, behavioral, and relational difficulties caused by early trauma. Parent education services are provided by the Developmental Trauma Center instructors, specifically trained in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT). Classes take place in an encouraging and supportive environment. They focus on partnering with parents to understand their children and help improve the quality of their family life.
Call 314-534-9350 and ask for intake or email intake.dept@familyforwardmo.org to learn more about Family Forward's educational opportunities or to register for a class. The schedule is linked HERE.

Calling all WSD graduates or residents! Come Home and become a part of the WSD family.
As part of our Come Home initiative that was developed in coordination with WNEA, teachers who are WSD residents or graduates can bring all their years of experience for the newly revised salary schedule. First-year teachers who are Wentzville graduates can earn up to $7,500 ($2,500 each year) for a three-year loyalty incentive, and any Wentzville graduate who comes home from working elsewhere to teach at WSD will receive a one-time $2,000 stipend.
What are you waiting for? Come Home to WSD for the 2023-2024 school year!
