#BeHumble

This week we will study the character trait of being humble. Let’s first look at the characteristics of the humble person . . .

  • listens in order to understand, and does not try to foist his point of view on anyone
  • gives credit where credit is due, and doesn’t need all the attention
  • is patient with others, and doesn’t judge people for not doing things his way
  • is happy with what he receives, and doesn’t insist on his “rights”
  • can wait and take turns
  • is willing to do whatever is necessary in a situation

As we work through the lesson on humility this week, we encourage you to look for ways to develop and support your child's growth and development in humility.

#BeReminded: IMPORTANT NOTICE

Parents of Fact-to-Face students we need your help. All staff and students are required to wear face masks and shields. It is the parent's responsibility to provide reusable mask for your student to wear everyday. We cannot afford to supply students with a disposable mask everyday. Recently, there has been a major increase in the number of students being dropped off without face masks. Ensure that your student has his or her reusable face mask on when being dropped off each morning.

Parents of Virtual students we need your help. Teachers are working double duty to ensure all of our students are provided quality instruction as well as social and emotional support each day. What teachers are not able to do is make your student log in to class, actively participate in class meetings, or complete work as assigned. That is only something you or their guardian during the day can do. Please help us by ensuring that students are checked on regularly throughout the day to ensure they are on track and doing what they are supposed to be doing at the appropriate time.

#BeIntentional: It's Mock STAAR Week @RPM

3rd - 5th grade students will take Mock STAAR Assessments this week. These assessments give students the opportunity to see what is expected on the STAAR assessments, as well as an opportunity to become familiar with the new online testing system. It is also important in allowing us the opportunity to gain valuable data to help us to plan for instruction as we countdown to STAAR Assessments that will be given in May. Please ensure that your student is present, logged-in on time, and ready to give their best effort everyday. Students will be assessed on the following days:

Math: Tuesday, April 20

Reading: Wednesday, April 21

Science: Thursday, April 22

Make-ups: Friday, April 23

Building Children, Character, and Community Everyday

“A hundred years from now it will not matter, what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove; but the world would be different because I was important in the life of a child.”
