Administrative Assistants Appreciation Week
This week is Administrative Assistant Appreciation Week. We are fortunate to have an outstanding Pleasant Union Office Staff that wear a number of hats. Kaye Person, Lead Secretary, Joyce Baginski, Data Manager and Becky Britt, Office Receptionist are essential to providing daily assistance to students, staff, and parents. Although they each have a primary role, all three consistently go the extra mile to provide assistance to whatever is needed from whoever walks through our doors, all with a pleasant, welcoming smile. Please join the our staff in showing them how much they are appreciated this week. If you need ideas for ways to thank them consider thank yous, cards, healthy foods, cute items /creative crafts, small bits of unhealthy foods, or any other creative ideas that you have.

PUE Special Ed Intern to Sing with North Carolina Master Chorale
Sara Fontes, our Special Education intern will be singing as a part of the North Carolina Master Chorale’s production of Rachmaninoff’s Vespers. As one of the major choral organizations of the Southeast, the North Carolina Master Chorale has been performing choral-orchestral masterworks for more than 75 years. Under the direction of Alfred E. Sturgis since 1993, the Master Chorale presents a diverse repertoire from the Renaissance to Contemporary with ensembles ranging from 16-voices to 170-voices. Our singers, selected by audition, bring a collective wealth of training and experience. In 2015, the Master Chorale was named Resident Chorus of the North Carolina Symphony. Founded as the Raleigh Oratorio Society in 1942, Master Chorale has evolved into a major regional performing arts group that works with over 250 artist-musicians each season, reaching an annual audience of over 10,000 choral arts enthusiasts.
Saturday, April 27 2019, the North Carolina Master Chorale will be performing Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Vespers (All-Night Vigil). Rachmaninoff weaves chant-based melodies into a lush harmonic fabric in his hauntingly beautiful Vespers. The chorale presents this sonorous a capella work in Raleigh’s new, stunningly reverberant cathedral.
