Congratulations to Kayla Fleming and Jerry Nies. Kayla was elected as our newest member and Jerry was elected to his 2nd term on our SSC and SGT committees.

PARKING AND TRAFFIC SAFETY

Please assist us with establishing good safety and traffic patterns in and around our school by following these rules: Always obey the Silver Gate traffic directors at Drop off & Pick up. Pull to the forward most space to drop off, and do not get out of your car unless you have a TK or Kinder pick up, do not stop in the middle of the street to have your child get in the car. Never drive down the school alley. This is not a drop-off zone. The area is for staff, residents, and handicap access only.

We have very limited parking around Silver Gate Elementary. Please be kind to our neighbors by keeping their driveways open and free. Please do not park in the bus loading zone. We also strongly encourage you to model good habits for your children by using the crosswalks. Please pass this important message along to anyone who may be picking up your children (grandparents, child care provider, etc.). We appreciate your help. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us to provide your child with a safe entry and departure to and from school.

Silver Gate Unicycle Club for 3rd and 4th graders

Unicycles are a special opportunity at Silver Gate Elementary, but our top priority is safety for all our students. For this reason, students must follow the rules stated in his Unicycle contract in order to be allowed the privilege of riding.

Practicing Mindfulness at School and at Home

We all face challenges in life and can relate to the added pressure that comes with Covid. Our students are just beginning to settle in and we want to make sure they all feel safe, secure, and comfortable in their surroundings. Please talk with your children about being mindful and sensitive to other students. A student can be absent from class for many reasons and we do not want a student to have the stigma of being labeled as “having Covid.”

The best policy is to ask your child not to discuss their absence with other students and not to have your student ask/comment about another's absence.

Thank you for assisting us in fostering a mindful environment for our students.

AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

There is still space available in the on-site after school programs. Sports, Lego Engineering, Spanish, Musical Theater, Dance, Crafts and more! Sign up for one, or more, of our after school programs. Click HERE for the current schedule then click on the program to view this session's flyer.

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS…...

Please do not send any food items for birthday celebration or for classroom treats. The district has strict rules about allowable food items due to allergies. You can send baggies with anything, but food items.
