October Marauder Moments
2021
Message from Dr. Avery and Miss Chaya
We are settled into five weeks of school and students are getting into the routine of their schedule and managing their time. While we know re-engaging students with regular academic habits and aspirations is a focus for the year, we are also keeping our eye on helping students meet behavioral expectations so they are able to remain engaged in their learning to the fullest. We are fortunate to have such tremendous students but all learners can benefit from a reminder of expectations, like using study hall time wisely (Perseverance), managing phone distractions (Responsibility), taking responsibility for mistakes (Integrity), treating all in our building with the dignity we are all entitled to (Dignity), or keeping our language school-appropriate and modeling for younger learners (Excellence). As we re-engage students with our behavioral and academic expectations, we appreciate and value your partnership and support of these same expectations for your children.
While there is time for work at school, there is also time for play and this past week we had our fall spirit week and Homecoming weekend. This is valuable time for our school to be a community. We also celebrated our Old English W award recipients from the 20-21 school year.
Thanks as always, for sending us the best kids.
Kate and Hilary
