GMS Principal's Corner

March 27, 2022

Dear Galvin Families,

This week our GMS Unified Bulldogs team played an away game against Bird/Johnson Middle School in Walpole! Our students were amazing! We saw excellent teamwork, confidence, sportsmanship and joy throughout the game.

Our final game of the season is Wednesday, March 30, at GMS! This is a Jamboree and we will be playing both Westwood and Walpole. Opening ceremonies start at 3 pm! Come cheer and support the Bulldogs.

GMS Make-Up-Day

Friday, April 15 will be a half day for the Galvin Middle School. This is a make-up-day. As usual school will begin at 7:45. Students will be dismissed at 11:05.

paws students of the month

Every month, one of the many ways we recognize our outstanding students is through our PAWS awards. Each team of teachers nominates four students each month who exemplify our Core Values: Positive Attitude, Academic Excellence, Work Ethic, and Supportive of Others. Pictures of these students and the categories are displayed in our main lobby when you enter the Galvin. We are proud of our students and are always seeking ways to recognize their accomplishments.

Chromebooks: Important Reminder

It is our students' responsibility to bring their charged Chromebook to school with them each day. We have a very limited number of loaners available and are using those to first support students who's Chromebooks aren't working. The Chromebook is an essential, daily, school supply. Please help your child come up with a process that allows them to have their device ready for school each day. Thank you.

GMS Talent Show

To provide more time for students to prepare their talent show acts, the talent show will be rescheduled to Friday, April 8th.

Grade 6 Snack

With our lunch rotation change, 6th grade lunch now begins at 12:25 and ends at 12:51. With this later time, 6th grade students may have a working, peanut free snack for five minutes during 3rd or 4th period.
