February 8:
- FFA " 'Merica" Day- Wear your red, white & blue because FFA is a National Organization!
- MCMS Track & Field Practice starts @ the MCHS Track (students will be bused from MCMS to the MCHS Track for practice each day, starting Feb. 8. Pick up is at the MCHS track between 5-5:15 PM. Please pick up athletes at the TOP level parking lot, directly across the street from the BOE and the OLD gym.
February 9
- FFA: Team Sports Tuesday- Wear your favorite sports team apparel.
- Soccer @ Stephens County Rec. Dept; Girls @ 4:30 pm & Boys @ 5:30 pm
February 10:
- FFA: Wear Red Wednesday- Wear your red because FFA is MC PROUD!
February 11:
- FFA: Throw on your Flannel Thursday- Dress in your flannel to show your support of farmers' hard work to feed us all!
- FFA Meeting: 3-4 pm in the Ag Room (ends sharply at 4 pm; please pick up in the bus lane in the back of MCMS)
February 12:
- Lincoln's Birthday
- FFA Friday- Wear an FFA t-shirt or your blue and gold to show your FFA Spirit!
February 14:

- Distance Learning has been cancelled Feb. 15-18. We will have in-person learning this week!

Congratulations to the Madison County Spelling Bee Champion & Finalists!
- Julian Dyer, an 8th grader at MCMS, was the Madison County District Spelling Bee champion, and he will go on to represent our district at the regional spelling bee on February 27.
- Blake Filkins, a 5th grader at Ila Elementary, was the runner up.
- A huge congratulations goes out to our winner and to all participants.

Chorus Fundraiser: Orders will be taken until Feb. 8th!
Chorus Krispy Kreme Certificate Fundraiser
The Chorus is once again selling Krispy Kreme Certificates! Certificates have no expiration date and are redeemable for 1 dozen original glazed from a Krispy Kreme store. Certificates are only $5.00 each (a HUGE discount from the in-store price!). Orders will be taken until February 8, and certificates will arrive mid-February. See a chorus student or Dr. Blackmon (fsblackmon@madison.k12.ga.us) to place your order. Thanks for your support!

Our Spring Sports are:
- Boys' Baseball: 7th and 8th Graders: Tryouts start on Friday, 1/29, 3-5:15, weather permitting (the tryouts start date was moved due to weather/wet field conditions)
- Golf: Grade 6th-8th Girls & Boys: Please Contact Coach Whitmire if you're interested! twhitmire@madison.k12.ga.us/ Students interested should see Coach Whitmire in Rm 1303
- Soccer: 7th and 8th Grade Girls and Boys (Tryouts were held in January)

The Mustang Wrestlers won the NEGIAA region Duals for the third year in a row.
They defeated Elbert by a score of 63-36, they defeated Rabun 81-18, next they defeated Stephens 84-18, next was a victory over Habersham 65-36, then they defeated Hart 77-18. This tournament is set up for every team to face each other all in one long night and it just so happened that Franklin and Madison were the only undefeated teams left and they were the final match of the night.
