Teacher Incentive Allotment Update
(TIA) by Jennifer Zschiesche
TIA Newsletter
Hello All! Welcome to the TIA newsletter. Throughout the development of our TIA Plan, it states the importance of stakeholder involvement. I am going to try to keep everyone informed through the use of a newsletter. This allotment money is out there for us to capitalize on for our teachers. We will build this plan together. Just remember, this is a growth model plan documented through the success of your students. It is about effective teaching and student learning. It is about reflecting on our teaching methodology and pedagogy. It is important that everyone understands that this plan will be approved by a TEA approver though Texas Tech. I am thinking that to get the money, there will be some work involved and also some documentation of growth. Texas Tech Approvers will decide if our plan will ultimately benefit learning at HISD and what teachers are effective in showing growth in student success. Based on our plan, we hopefully will be able to pay those teachers who are willing to go that extra mile and help HISD students be the best they can be! I am excited that we will be beginning this journey for HISD and our goal, as always, is to see students learning and becoming successful in their future endeavors. We will be in a TEA workshop on February 19th to glean more information and get a better sense of direction. Again, you will be involved in every step. Please feel free to reach out to me or the team members if you have any questions!
If you will let me throw out a little of my own personal philosophy here....
One of my "words" this year and last year has been "BECOMING". I truly believe that we are always in a state of "becoming". We are constantly learning how to become a better person, friend, spouse, educator, motivator, communicator, healthier, leader, etc.... so this plan for me is truly about "Becoming Better Bulldogs" at HISD. I hope that everyone is willing to embrace hard work and is ready to "BECOME THE BEST DISTRICT IN TEXAS!" Our students deserve it, our parents deserve it, you deserve it...let's get it done and embrace "BECOMING".
