A&M Consolidated High School
News from Elder's Desk
I appreciate those of you who planned the Day of Success. If you lead, designed, assisted, taught, or monitored students, thank you for going above and beyond to help our students succeed. Your flexibility in thinking outside of the box to address our students' needs and your willingness to design activities to make learning stick are to be commended!
As we wrap up the last month of school, teach like this is your last opportunity to make an impact—foster positive relationships; integrate meaningful, rigorous assignments that engage all learners. Dr. Ginott once said, “I’ve come to a frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It’s my personal approach that creates the climate.” Regardless of who walks into your classroom, you play an integral role in developing an environment conducive to learning for ALL. Remember to stand outside your classroom to develop those positive connections before class starts. Each and every day, ask yourself, “Does my demeanor welcome students into my classroom or push students away?"
You were born with a purpose, so be intentional in making a powerful push to the finish.
