Builders Club

December Update & January Preview

Welcome to our Viking family! Thank you for supporting us on our community service voyage.

December was a busy month for WMS Builders Club. We had so much fun providing support for so many different events this month. Read on to find out about the many different opportunities have had over the month of December.

Thank you to those who have sponsored or donated to events that we have hosted or participated in so far. We could not do all of these wonderful projects without you!

December Events

American Legion Commanders Luncheon

On December 4th, Builders Club took members of the Veterans Group and Officers to serve a meal to the Commanders of the American Legion. Students served drinks, a meal and dessert. They also helped with bussing tables. We really enjoyed spending time with the families of our veterans.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

On December 11th, WMS Builders Club rang the bells to help raise money for the Salvation Army.

Operation Blue Santa

On December 17th, a group of about 20 students met at Baden Square with the Winfield Police Department to help with Operation Blue Santa. Operation Blue Santa raises money and resources to provide Winfield families with toys and household necessities in order to help with Christmas. Our Builders helped to fill stockings and boxes with household necessities. They also helped to make homemade cards for each of the families as well as for all of the police officers currently employed by WPD.

Thanks to this year's sponsors and volunteers, the Winfield Police Department was able to brighten the holiday season for 14 families.

William Newton Memorial Hospital Care Packages

On Friday, December 17th, WMS Builders Club delivered care packages to each of the departments at William Newton Memorial Hospital in Winfield. We are so thankful for the work that our doctors and nurses have put in during this global pandemic.

Each care package had handmade cards from the students at WMS. They also included Hershey's Hugs & Kisses and LifeSavers Candy Canes. We love our life-savers at our local hospital!

Wreaths Across America

On December 18th, WMS Builders Club took a group of students to attend Wreaths Across America at Winfield Veterans Cemetary.

Thanks to all of the generosity of our community members, organizations and businesses we were able to raise enough money to provide 84 wreaths for this wonderful cause!
