Fort McMurray fire
Continues to burn
When did the fire start?
The Fort McMurry fire had started on Saturday April 30 2016, over 80,000 people had to leave there homes. Thefire had spread through all the forest in Fort McMurry, Alberta. Many houses were burned down.
How it happened
The fire has been causing convection after the lightning hit it. The lands were very dry and so fire had started rise, as well as it continues to burn. We have an idea that climate change is the reason the fire initially had started after the storm.
Homes evacuated
More than 80,000 people had to evacuate. The fire had destroyed majority of the homes there. Due to strong winds and the lack of moisture the fire will only grow which will not be a relief for the ones who are battling it.
Heading to Saskatchewan

The wildfire outside of Fort McMurry, was once measured in football fields, now is measured at more than 2,000 square kilometers, this is three times the size of Edmonton.
