COVID-19 4-H Update

November 18, 2020

To our 4-H Families:

It has been quite a year with changes coming quickly. Thank you for your patience with our county 4-H staff, the state 4-H office, and OSU Extension as we navigate these changes.

Today, Franklin County Public Health and Columbus Public Health released a COVID-19 Health Advisory for all of Franklin County. The advisory is issued for 28 days with the hope that it will keep Franklin County residents safe as we navigate this pandemic.

In accordance with and in support of the COVID-19 Health Advisory for the City of Columbus and Franklin County issued jointly by Franklin County Public Health and Columbus Public Health, effective immediately, all 4-H activities and programs, including club meetings, must be held virtually or postponed until the county lifts the advisory. Club advisors should work with officers to move meetings to an online platform and communicate club expectations with families. We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone, but we must do our part to stop the spread of this virus.

Club Leaders: If you need assistance converting to an online platform for upcoming club meetings, we have some helpful resources that can be found here.

  • You can also join the Franklin County 4-H Council this evening, Wednesday, November 18, at 7:00 pm. The topic of discussion will be great tips and tools to use during virtual club meetings. All club leaders are welcome to attend. Email Beth or Rachel for Zoom login information.

Please feel free to contact Beth at boomershine.10@osu.edu or Rachel at stoneburner.31@osu.edu for any questions.

Thank you for your cooperation.
