Important Updates from EUSD
September 4, 2020
Dear EUSD Families,
I hope this week’s update finds you and your family well. As we prepare for students to return in small groups in the hybrid model, we recognize this adds concerns and questions for families and staff. We all agree that safety must be at the forefront and we must be thoughtful and consistent in the implementation of safety protocols and our re-opening plan. Each of our campuses has been carefully reviewing every aspect of their plans to ensure all necessary equipment, procedures and resources are in place. The logistics of the re-opening are extremely complex and I am so thankful for the continued heroic efforts of our staff!
In last week’s video, we discussed the specifics of the hybrid model. We are confident that teachers will be able to provide high quality in person learning that is specific to individual students and their needs. Our teachers will remain focused on essential standards and supporting potential learning loss for all students. At the same time, we know distance learning is an important choice for families. Please find information below on how to enroll in Cloud Campus. We will do our very best to support all families in this next phase.
I cannot reiterate enough the importance of all of us doing our part to remain steadfast in the use of masks and hygiene protocols at all times. Our actions as adults directly impact our students and their safety.
Sincerely,
Andrée Grey, Ed.D.
Superintendent
Information and Waitlist for Cloud Campus or In Person Instruction
As we prepare to move into our Hybrid Model, which begins on Monday, September 21, we recognize that some families would like to move into or out of our yearlong distance learning program, Cloud Campus. An overview of the Cloud Campus learning model is available here.
The waitlist to move into or out of Cloud Campus is available here and is open as of Friday, September 4 and will close at Noon on Tuesday, September 8. Any student movement will be based on space available, and will require a change in teacher. You will be notified via phone call if we have a space for your student in your program choice. We anticipate providing a response by Monday, September 14, and appreciate your patience as we work through the process.
