Pick-up and Drop-off Drive-thru
On Thursday, June 11th, we will host another drive-thru pick-up and drop-off. The pick-up stations will be for those who ordered yearbooks, as well as 6th grade promotion certificates and t-shirts. The drop-off stations will be for return of materials such as textbooks, library books, or Safety Belts/Badges. Do not return consumable workbooks in which student have written.
Drop-off of technology for those families who borrowed an iPad or laptop is scheduled for Monday, June 15th. If you prefer to return your child’s borrowed device on the June 11th drive-thru, we will accept items at that time.
The drive-thru scheduled for both June 11th and June 15th will take place from 2:00pm-6:00pm. In the same manner as our materials pick-up last week, cars should circle our school and follow traffic to the gym side of the playground. Signs will indicate pick-up and drop-off locations, and staff will be outside to assist you. To improve traffic flow and reduce your wait time, we ask that you arrive during the window assigned by your last name. If you are unable to arrive during your designated time, you may come during any other time of the drive-thru without prior arrangements. If you are unable to arrive on Thursday 6/11, you may drive-thru on Monday 6/15 without prior arrangements. If neither date or times are possible, you can email Mr. Cochran kcochran@cbsd.org for special arrangements. If you were unable to retrieve your child’s personal belongings during the 5/26 drive-thru, you may retrieve them during either upcoming drive-thru.

Move-up Day
To introduce students to their next grade, our teachers created a welcome video message that includes a warm greeting and information about engaging activities that are unique to the grade level. This message will be sent to students on Friday, June 12th.
On Tuesday, August 4, 2020 you will be able to access your child’s teacher/placement for the 2020-2021 school year. Details about how to access the information through the Parent Portal system will be shared in July.
We know that a virtual Move-Up Day does not replace the joy of changing classrooms and meeting next year’s teacher, but we are hopeful a preview of the curricular themes will give students a welcoming introduction to the 2020-2021 school year.
Spotlight on Support Staff
This month we introduce Mrs. Audrey Burger. Mrs. Berger has worked in the Central Bucks School District for the past 20 years, and this is her second year working as an Educational Assistant at Bridge Valley. She and her husband Ken have been married for almost 35 years, and they have two children, Ryan and Shelbie. Mrs. Berger also has a 4-year-old rescue dog named Casper who brings them great joy and happiness.
Mrs. Berger feels that spending time with and teaching students is a privilege. She appreciates every moment they spend together. Mrs. Berger shared that she feels great satisfaction when her students master a new skill. Helping the students gain independence fills her with a sense of purpose, and seeing their smiling faces makes her heart smile.
Since she has been home, Mrs. Berger has been spending much of her free time cooking, talking with friends and family, and of course spending a lot of quality time with her buddy, Casper! She is looking forward to returning to Bridge Valley and seeing the students. We thank Mrs. Berger for her commitment to Bridge Valley, the students, and staff.
Field Day 2020
Distance Learning has provided an opportunity for the whole family to enjoy Field Day fun.
Field Day runs ALL week 6/1-6/5. Students can participate in games and activities and share pictures with Mr. Foster on Seesaw. Have fun and remember to show good sportsmanship!
Beach Day - Students are ready for Summer
6th Grade Promotion
Summer Reading Program
This summer, we are joining with Scholastic for their Read-A-Palooza Summer Reading Challenge. This is a free, 24/7 monitored site from Scholastic. Sign up using your computer, ipad or iphone following these directions. Students track the number of days in a row they read during the summer, earning points to donate books to children who need books and earning access to various games and activities. There is a great section featuring the new Babysitter’s Club series coming to Scholastic. Various children’s authors are also featured. When we return to school, we ask you to print your personal report and hand it into your teacher. We will be rewarding any student who hands in a reading report.
