Next Week's Schedule

Just a reminder, there is no school next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This is our district's Thanksgiving break and the building will be closed those three days. If you are traveling during the break, we hope you have a safe trip and we will see everyone on Monday, November 26th.

There will be no newsletter emailed home next week because of the short week.

Pajama Day and Read-In

Students are invited to wear pajamas or comfy clothes to school on Tuesday, November 20th. This all school Pajama Day will be celebrated with a Read-In in the afternoon. We are looking forward to a cozy day of getting lost in our books and we have a storyteller coming to cap off the end of the day with all student in the gym at 3:00PM.

WI State School Report Cards

As many of you are already aware, the WI State School Report Cards were released this week. We are proud to say Hillcrest Significantly Exceeds Expectations! Please see the attached Hillcrest Letter for additional information and to find the link to this year's report card.

Drop Off and Pick Up

Now that the weather has turned snowy, it's a good time to take a look at our drop off and pick up procedures. Please review THIS document to make sure you are moving through our lot safely and helping everyone get where they need to safely.

*Please note, the drop off area is for quick drop offs and pick ups only. Adults should not need to leave their cars and children should be able to enter the car independently for you to use this area.

*The circle drive is for bus and daycare van pick up only. There are a couple handicapped parking spots that should only be used by people with special needs.

Thank you for your help with this!

December Food Drive

We will have an all school food drive during the first week of December. We are connecting this to our fourth and fifth grader’s concert on December 11th. The theme of the concert is “This Big, Beautiful World.” We will collect non-perishable food items during the week of Dec. 3rd through the 7th. We have a list of suggested food items, but you can bring any items, or also bring a monetary donation. Here are the suggested food items:

December 3rd: Macaroni and cheese

December 4th: Cereal or any breakfast item (pancake mix, waffle mix, etc.)

December 5th: Canned fruit

December 6th: beans: refried, baked, or chili

December 7th: your favorite!

We are also inviting guests to bring a canned item or monetary donation to the concert on Dec. 11th, if they wish. All of the items will be picked up by the Waukesha Food Pantry on Dec. 12th.

We are giving you this list in advance so that you can begin collecting items for our December food drive. Thank you in advance for your participation, and for caring for those in need in our community!

Safe Arrival - Available Now!

Hillcrest is now fully up and running with the district's new attendance reporting system, Safe Arrival. Safe Arrival allows you to report an absence or appointment at any time from your phone. Our attendance line is still available for reporting absences but we encourage you to give Safe Arrival a try. We know you will find it to be an easy to use system that is available at times that work for YOU!

1) By far the easiest way to interact with the new system is by downloading the app on your phone and signing up for an account.

2) If you are not an app user and prefer to use your computer signup and login at https://go.schoolmessenger.com/

3) The phone option is still available by calling the attendance line at school. There will be a menu there to transfer your call into the new system. You may however, want to use the direct number 1-866-490-7371. By dialing direct from a phone that is registered with the district, the system should recognize the number you are calling from and be able to quickly identify your children and allow you to confirm their absence.
