South Bay Cultural Diversity Festival

Join us on Thursday May 27th from 6-7pm for our virtual Cultural Diversity Festival. Students will be presenting their digital art projects, grade level musical spoken word pieces, Ms. Park's class will show their video projects, there will be local musical guests, raffle prizes and candies from around the world to those students in attendance! It should be a fun night for everyone! Look for the Zoom link coming next week!

Optional Parent/Teacher Conferences

If you are interested in meeting with your child's teacher we will be having optional conferences on Mon. 6/7. Please complete the attached form if you are interested in speaking to your child's teacher before the end of the year. Thank you!

Pre-Order your South Bay Yearbook

The South Bay yearbook is now available for pre-order. The cost of the yearbook is $10 with the yearbooks arriving the last week of school. 8th Grade Hearing/Vision Testing

Hello 8th grade families. On Wed.5/26 the HCOE nurses will be here to perform hearing and vision screenings for all 8th graders. If you are a distance learning student please drop by the office on 5/26 between 10-11 for your screening. Feel free to contact the office with any questions.

We are continuing to enroll students for kindergarten at Pine Hill School. If you have a student of kindergarten age or know a family looking for an excellent kindergarten program for their child, please check out this informative article about our program. Box Tops Program Still Alive & Kickin'!

Box Tops Program Still Alive & Kickin'!

Thank you to all of the parents and teachers who are still scanning receipts with the Box Tops app on their phones for credits or clipping the paper Box Tops (although pretty rare to find now!). We earned $124 so far this year for new books for the libraries! If you don't have time to scan your own receipts...no problem. Please turn them in to your child's teacher or at the school's front office and they will be put in my box for me to scan. We are also still accepting paper Box Tops clips if you still have them!

Site Council Openings

There are openings on South Bay's two Site Councils. South Bay meets monthly on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, and South Bay Charter meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month. The commitment is about an hour a month.


Help each school develop plans to improve the educational experience for all of our students. Contact Heather Becksted (South Bay) for more information.

Food Distribution Fridays

Food Distribution Fridays

Pine Hill/South Bay will be providing food for students of SBUSD families 18 years and under. Pick up for all students during distance learning will be at South Bay School from 11:00-1:00 on Friday only. Pick up has moved to the front office. Students that will be on campus will receive their daily meals before they head home for the day.
