(The Meeting Place)
Good Luck Third Grade on IREAD3!!!! Students will be testing Monday and Tuesday.
Men in Action
At 9:00 that morning, please send your Kkids class representative to the main front hallway. They will escort our guest reader back to your classroom. A letter which includes information on what to expect during that time (20 minutes) will be placed in your mailbox today.
The goals of the morning are the following:
1. Teach and prompt conversations with children about 3 important character values: support, positive identity and commitment to learning. This is in line with Sheltering Wings’ new focus on the prevention of domestic violence utilizing the 40 Developmental Assets (www.search-institute.org).
2. Engage men in a volunteer initiative. The hope is to expose men to the schools to encourage them to continue volunteering in the schools (or anywhere) with youth.
3. Show our community we are a community that stands for healthy values and relationships. It is our desire to raise a new generation built on trust, honor, and respect for one another. We believe men have a unique role in this preventative measure.

Riley Days
Our school participates in Kids Caring & Sharing for Riley Hospital, a special project of the Indiana Association of School Principals. On March 20-22 we will be holding our annual “Riley Days.” Each student is invited to participate! We are asking students to consider a $5.00 donation in exchange for participating in “dress up days” and participation in our Riley Volleyball.
Students may bring their donation anytime during the week of March 18th. Students will receive a small token of appreciation from Riley Hospital for their generosity.
On Friday, March 22nd, students will show off the volleyball skills they have been learning in PE class by competing against other classes in their grade level. Winning classes will take on the teachers in a final match.
Third Grade will compete from 8:00-9:15 and Fourth Grade from 9:30-10:45. Parents are welcome to attend.
The “dress up days” will be as follows:
Flyin' High with RTI
From Jaymee: Due to the IRead 3 test on Monday and Tuesday, as well as me being at North all day Wednesday for Kindergarten Registration, my groups will be hit or miss until Thursday.
From Renee: There will be no 4th grade Reading Lab on Thursday due to Danny Russel's visit.
Due to Troy Cummings' visit there will be no MFM groups or Zen Zone today.
ILEARN/YOU LEARN
**If you teach math or ELA in grades 3-8, reading these updates is NOT optional. You are expected to know the information contained in each update. Please make the time to ensure you have read and understand all of this information.**
If you missed a previous version, please catch up by accessing the following links:
From the Tech Department
The ILEARN Practice test icon is back on the Chromebooks. The original URL had changed so it had to be updated. The students will see this icon after they log in and look at the bottom bar on the screen. It is the icon with the blue Indiana and torch.
This is not to be confused with the AIRSecureTest browser found on the login screen. To access and take the real test, you will use the AIRSecureTest browser found under "Apps" before a student logs into the Chromebook. A photo of where to find the AIRSecureTest browser:
