Our Lady of Lourdes School T1, 2022
Nau mai, Haere mai, Welcome to Term1: Week 9
HELLO, KIA ORA, KIA ORĀNA, MALO E LELEI, TALOFA, NAMASTE, KUMUSTA...
Blessings to you all as we begin week 9 of the term. We hope this newsletter finds you and your family/whanau well. We have certainly had an interesting few weeks as I know you all have.
This week the middle classrooms (Room 4 and 5) and the senior rooms (Room 6 and 8) will be using the Hybrid Learning Model as we have many children still at home and staff now are having to isolate. This allows for children who are isolating at home and those at school to be sharing the same learning and programmes. We will continue to monitor and reflect on what is best for everyone.
WELCOME to Valentina who has joined us at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Room 4. Abundant blessings to you and your family.
THANK YOU
Thank you so very much for your wonderful generosity last Friday when we raised money for the Ukraine Caritas. With only 100 at school we managed to raise close to $300. What a wonderful effort and I know it will be truly appreciated. We will continue to pray for peace in the Ukraine and for peace in our world.
KICKSTART BREAKFAST
We are truly blessed to now be a part of this wonderful programme. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday children are able to have Weet-Bix and milk from 8.30-8.50am. Our senior leaders have taken over this wonderful act of service for our children. We have some very happy children starting their day ahead.
Again, our thanks for your support as we journey together in these uncertain times. You are always in our prayers.
Once again, go gently, take good care of each other, being a person of MERCY in our world.
Blessings

WELL BEING AT OLOL
As well as creating ‘logistical overload’ for schools, Covid is a huge concern for parents. The health sector has developed some excellent resources for parents on the KidsHealth website which you may wish to share with parents. Please check out the links below -

KidsHealth also covers a huge range of general child health topics that may be of interest to parents and help to reduce anxiety in your community.

Bishops' Synod Survey
“Pope Francis wants to hear from you!” The bishops are using this direct papal message to invite people – Catholic or not – to take part in a survey for the ongoing international synod on the future direction of the Church. The survey is being advertised on Stuff and in social media such as Facebook, so you might see it pop up. Please share it with friends who may not be reached by your parish/diocesan Synod consultation. Details including a link to the survey: https://www.catholic.org.nz/news/media-releases/synod-feedback/
Thank you!
