Message from the Principal
Dear Parents
Carpark Project
It was such a pleasure to announce on Monday that we have engaged a new Head Contractor, Tricon to complete our carpark works. We look forward to a positive working relationship and a great outcome at the end of the project. Again, thank you for your continued support.
Confirmation
We continue to pray for our Year 6 students as they prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation on the upcoming Pentecost weekend of 19 & 20 May. The recent parent/child confirmation workshops are an important aspect of this journey and I thank all parents and their teachers for supporting the children in this regard.
Year 6 Point Peron Camp
I take the opportunity of congratulating the Year 6 group on the amazing way in which each and every student involved themselves in, and contributed to the recent Year 6 camp at Point Peron. They were a great team, supporting each other in having a wonderful time and learning much about themselves! A huge thank you to staff and parents who attended: Cath Ryan, Mike Barns, Narelle Sumner, Andrew De Maio, Adriano D'Adamo, Tarni Golisano, Sylvia Gomez, Aran Buckley and Brian Briscoe.
NAPLAN 2018
Good luck to all students from Years 3 & 5 who are involved in the NAPLAN testing next week. The best way we can support our children is by ensuring they have a good night’s sleep, a good breakfast and being relaxed on the day. The learning has already happened in the ensuring years and it is important to remember that this ‘moment in time’ testing is one form of assessment that compliments teacher assessment.
Mothers' Day
Best wishes to all our mothers and grandmothers for a wonderful Mothers' Day this coming Sunday. May your families show you how important you are and may you celebrate well. If you’d like to begin your celebrations earlier, we would love for you to attend our Mothers’ and Grandmothers’ Day Assembly and Morning Tea at 9am in the school gym.
Thank you for your continued support.
Many blessings
Tamara McGougan
Principal

Sample questions can be accessed at nap.edu.au/naplan/the-tests.html. If you have any queries or concerns in regards to NAPLAN, please visit the official website at http://www.nap.edu.au/naplan or contact the classroom teacher.
Children often take their cues from their parents about how to handle many situations. It helps your child if you take a positive view of NAPLAN tests and encourage them to try hard rather than do well. Remember a good night’s sleep, healthy breakfast and a positive start to the day also helps.
