Makerspaces

Monroe Woodbury High School Library

What is a makerspace?

A Makerspace is an innovative learning space that will engage and inspire students. Students will be encouraged to explore their creativity with hands-on, science, engineering, technology and art based materials and activities. The idea is to make, create, explore, collaborate and share knowledge.

Why the library?

The library's mission is to make resources, materials and learning accessible to all students.

“The most important quality of a makerspace is that it encourages creativity. This can be done with a space full of hand tools, materials, and finished projects. The culture in a space should support the idea that anything is possible.” 3 Key Qualities for a School Makerspace
