Board Meeting Summaries - Summaries of all Piedmont Unified Board of Education meetings will now be provided on the District website and social media. Read summaries of recent meetings below:
Daily Health Screener - Students and families are reminded to fill out the District’s Daily Health Screener every day before coming to school. The information provided is important in assessing student health and is vital for contact tracing in the event of a positive COVID case. The screener is sent to all families every morning via email and text.
ACOE COVID-19 School Guidance - The recently-updated Alameda County Office of Education COVID-19 School Guidance and is a great resource for families and is incorporated into the District’s COVID FAQ.
Diversity Equity and Inclusion Update - The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council members have convened twice since the start of the school year. The DEI Council consists of representatives from certificated & classified staff, site and District administrators, high school organizations and clubs, community organizations and the School Board. The Council is an advisory body to the Superintendent and School Board and provides input on the implementation of the Racial Equity Board Policy/Administrative Regulation and the Educational Equity Board Policy that were passed by the Board in September 2020. Regular updates on DEI work at the site and District level will be presented at School Board meetings.
In April 2021, Ms. Dharini Rasiah was appointed by the Board to serve as PUSD's Director of DEI. Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, Ms. Rasiah was unable to continue in the position. She shared how happy she was to be working for Piedmont and regrets leaving the District so early into her position. PUSD is grateful for her many contributions related to the planning for the launch of the DEI Council. The Director of DEI position for the 2021-22 school year has been posted on EdJoin and Indeed and the District's goal is to fill the position as soon as possible.
Apply to be a Substitute - PUSD is accepting applications for substitute teachers. Visit the District’s EdJoin page for more information and to apply.
