The Purpose of an ELAC
1. provide parents of English Learners opportunities to learn about:
- educational EL programs offered to students including bilingual possibilities
- the importance of regular school attendance
2. provide parents of English Learners training on:
- ELAC responsibilities included elected members on their roles in the GOHS ELAC
- Uniform Complaint Procedures - Williams Act
3. provide parents of English Learners opportunities to
- Advise the principal and school staff on the site plan for English learners, including effective actions to improve learning of English Learners
- Assist in the development of the school wide needs assessment
- Elect at least one member to the District English Learner Advisory committee (DELAC)
- Advise the principal and school staff on the use of LCAP Discretionary Spending
