Minges Brook Elementary

A message from Principal Fausey-Riley
Happy Fall! As the weather changes, please make sure to send your child(ren) dressed accordingly and prepared for daily changes in the temperature.
A strong school to home partnership is incredibly important for the growth of your MB Spartan.
Parent/Teacher conferences are coming up in just a few weeks. Please make sure you sign up for a time with your child's teacher. Our goal is 100% participation.
Thank you for your partnership and for choosing Minges Brook!
Mrs. Giddings Good News to Home:
It was another fantastic week here at Minges Brook! With respect being our monthly focus, our Social Emotional Learning has centered around respecting self, others and things.
When students pay attention to respectful actions (both the things they say and do) they are able to begin to understand that what they say and do matters! One respectful act leads to another and we always encourage each other to be the best, and do the best, that we can (both individually and as a team).
As a reminder, we are all experiencing situations that may be new or
uncomfortable to us.
If you haven’t checked out our Lakeview Resilience Team Supports page yet,
please do so.
This resource is full of information on Social Emotional Well Being, Academic Achievement and Career Exploration/Preparation.
As always, please reach out with wonderings and for support. Take Care!

Spring 2020-21 M-Step Results
The Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress, or M-STEP, is an assessment designed to gauge how well students are mastering state standards. These standards broadly outline what students should know and be able to do in order to be prepared to enter the workplace, career education training, and college. The MSTEP is administered to students each spring in grades 3-8, and grade 11.
For students who took the Spring 2021 M-STEP, the individual data reports have arrived! At parent teacher conferences, you will receive a copy of the Parent Report that details your students’ results on each portion of the assessment, as well as questions you could ask your student’s teachers about the results.
Additionally, a helpful companion to this report is the M-STEP Parent Guide, which provides grade level descriptions of the assessed standards and what the student will be expected to learn in the next school year for each tested grade. To access the Parent Report Guides, go to this link on the Michigan Department of Education website.
Our doors unlock at 8:15 every day. Our staff members are out front to direct traffic and to ensure all students enter the building safely.
Household Information Forms
The Household Information Form is required to ensure additional funding for our school. All information is confidential.
Please complete the Household Information Form (one form per family) if you haven't already and return it to your student's teacher or to the front office.
