Western Middle School wins CTNews12 School Spirit Showdown Week

With more than 15,000 votes on CT News 12, Western Middle School was last week's winner of School Spirit Showdown. WMS Principal, Mr. Bernstein, said, "There's a ton of school spirit. People get behind the sports teams, get behind musicals, plays, whatever is going on..." Students and staff celebrated their school spirit with their "West Side, Best Side," school chant.

Multicultural Night at Hamilton Avenue School

Multicultural Night is an annual event at Hamilton Avenue School where the school community comes together to celebrate the cultural heritages representative of the families in the school community. Families and staff members share a variety of food and music from around the world and enjoy what makes this community special.

First Selectman visits North Mianus School

Greenwich's First Selectman, Peter Tesei, visited third, fourth and fifth graders at North Mianus School on Tuesday morning to share his congratulations with students for their school's designation as a 2019 National Blue Ribbon School. Mr. Tesei said, "...it is through your perseverance and hard work, and following the lead of your wonderful teaching staff and school principal, that you have excelled at the highest level and have been recognized."

Superintendent's Update Newsletter

The school year is well underway, and as I reflect on the first 7 weeks, it’s clear to see that all of our schools are off to a wonderful and busy start to the year. On a personal note, I have enjoyed visiting our schools and getting to know students, staff and families in Greenwich. Thank you for the warm welcome. This note to you all serves as the first of my periodic community Superintendent’s Updates. I will share these to make sure that we are keeping our school and broader community well informed.

Fall Festivals across the District this weekend

Glenville Fall Festival

Sat. Oct 19th

12:00 - 4:00PM

Glenville School (33 Riversville Road, Greenwich)


Glenville School will host its annual "Harvest Festival" this Saturday complete with: inflatable rides, kid's karaoke, arcade games, video game truck, balloon art, photo booth, arts & crafts, live music, DJ, food trucks, bake sale, raffles and much more. This event is open to the public and will be held rain or shine!


Old Greenwich Pumpkin Patch

Sat. Oct. 19th

11:00AM - 4:00PM

Old Greenwich School (285 Sound Beach Avenue, Old Greenwich)


Old Greenwich School's 49th annual Pumpkin Patch, the school's fall celebration and largest school fundraiser of the year, will have games for all ages, bounce houses, craft making tables, the famously spook-tacular haunted house, hay maze, pumpkins, live music, great food, and a special performance by local student dancers. This event is open to the public and will be held rain or shine!

Projects Update

Julian Curtiss School:

Julian Curtiss School's Feasibility Committee met for the first time recently, and are moving forward in preparation for their future renovation project. More details to come.


Greenwich High School:

Greenwich High School's Entryway/Media Center Project's Feasibility Committee had their first meeting recently, with specific emphasis on working towards redesign of the entryway to enhance safety and security. More details to come.
