September Back to School Edition
Welcome Back to School!
What an exciting time for our Students, Caregivers, and entire learning community!
Drivers and aides were eager to be the first people to welcome you and your learners into the 2023-2024 school year. Since the start of school, the Transportation Team has been working out the kinks to make sure students are getting to school on time.
We are one of the biggest transportation teams in the United State with approximately 1,000 dedicated employees proudly serving 44,000 students receiving transportation services daily. Safety is our number 1 priority as our buses carry students and staff across 220 square miles of Columbus each day.
We are proud to serve you!
Please keep reading for additional details about how to stay safe on our buses, where to find answers to frequently asked questions, and how to meet our teams.

Why did my Bus Stop Move? Can I Request a Different Bus Stop?
It depends. Every situation is unique and is addressed according to federal, state, local, and district rules, regulations, and guidelines. Please reach out to 614-365-5074 for assistance.
Why did my Bus Stop Move?
Bus stops are created and evaluated on an ongoing basis. Stops that may have been safe in the past may have become too busy due to city and /or neighborhood growth or stops that may have been central to larger groups of students may need shifted. Due to the low number of drivers and the amount of stops each bus makes, we are often forced to combine bus stops to ensure we get students to school on time.
Can I Request a Different Bus Stop?
It depends. Buses are routed based on the address listed in Infinite Campus. We are often unable to take requests to change bus stops due to the large number of students we serve, bus capacity, safety, and other various factors. Please make sure your address is current in the Parent Portal.
What if I no longer need to use the school bus?
Please notify the school if you would like to be removed from the bus. This will allow us to correctly gauge the number of riders on each bus each day and increase route efficiencies. Abandoned stops cause unnecessary stops and delays in drive time.
Why is my student's bus route longer?
It depends. The nation is still facing a driver shortage across the country. To better meet your school bus transportation needs, we are often forced to combine some routes. Some circumstances require us to extend routes to get students to or from school. Unfortunately, this could happen throughout the school year based on the fluctuating needs of our large student population. Please be assured that we work diligently every day to avoid this as often and as much as we can.
What if I am concerned about the safety of my student's bus route?
Please reach out to 614-365-5074 if you have concerns about the safety of the bus stop. The stop will be investigated and addressed. The outcomes are based on the federal, state, local, and district safety rules, regulations, and guidelines.
NAVIGATING DELAYED BUSES
What Can I Do If My Bus Is Late?
We respectfully ask for your patience with the timing of the bus during the first few months of school. However, chronic late buses may reveal a routing issue that needs to be addressed right away. Contact 614-365-5074 if the bus is consistently late after the first few weeks of school.
Please also consider delays caused by road construction, weather, traffic, and routing adjustments could affect drive time.
Morning Routes: We suggest arriving at your stop 10 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. Remember, students are added to routes daily so be sure to frequently check your bus time in the Parent Portal.
