What does carbohydrates do?
Complex Carbohydrates are carbs that are slow to enter the bloodstream, and due to this fact they provide the body with longer lasting energy compared to simple carbs.
The main sources of complex carbs are shown below:
If the body doesn't get enough complex carbs, your energy will drain and you will slow down. The body could experience ketosis, fatigue, and constipation.
The lack of carbohydrates can cause hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia, also known as low blood sugar or low blood glucose, occurs when the glucose levels in the blood drop below normal. It can also cause ketosis, which is when the body doesn't have much glucose to produce energy.
Eating excessive carbs continually creates a cluster of symptoms now best known as metabolic syndrome and sometimes called syndrome X or insulin-resistance syndrome.
