LCAP Parent Input Sessions
- I will conduct an LCAP Parent Input Session at each of your schools.
- I will also conduct one of these with staff at each school.
- Rachel asked your OM to try to schedule the parent session in conjunction with one of your regularly scheduled parent meetings (i.e., PTA or principal coffee).
- The current schedule has me coming at the end of one of your meetings to begin the parent input session AFTER the regularly scheduled meeting.
- Some of you are suggesting that I actually attend at the beginning of your PTA/ Coffee meeting and we just replace that with my input session first and foremost. If you would prefer that, please communicate with Rachel to adjust my schedule so I show up on time!
- Please be sure to invite parents/ share the date and information so that parents know we are seeking their input on our annual district LCAP.
- If you have other questions or suggestions, please let me know.

Know My Story/ Know Our Story -- Winter Break Edition
- Christy Kay: It’s a full house at the Kay house for the holidays this year giving us all the chance to fill our bucket – family and friends from afar coming starting on the Dec 17th…some staying until Jan 3rd.
- Amy: I will enjoy time traveling with my best friend to London and Iceland, hoping to see the Northern Lights and lots of good shows! I will be doing an early Christmas celebration with my family on 12/21 before I leave.
- Wes: We are looking forward to moving back to our house after a 4 month remodel and turning a house into a home. I hope to disconnect, be present for my kids, and spend time with family and friends.
- Tiffany: I plan to spend my Holiday with my kids and my new grandbaby girl Ciji cause that’s what it’s all about to me; Family!
- Rachel T: Every year I look forward to the winter break because I love our family’s holiday traditions. A holiday break also wouldn’t be complete without a hockey tournament in lovely Vacaville!!!
- Jennifer M: Staycation with family and friends that bring me laughter and joy during the holidays of lights and cheer.
- Ashley: I plan to spend winter vacation eating lots of yummy Mexican food while visiting my Daddy and best friend in El Paso. Returning on Christmas Day to hopefully begin moving in and decorating in my new house addition. New Year’s Resolution the same as every year but hopefully more successfully met this year… Play guitar, workout and sail!
- Heather: I plan to spend my holidays enjoying family and friends by relaxing, not traveling and spending a lot of time in my pajamas.
- Andree: We will do our annual pilgrimage to the Hotel Del on Christmas Eve, enjoy Christmas at home playing games with family, and then head to Big Bear for cabin time with dear friends.
- Carrie: The holidays mean seeing my children, all in one place at the same time! It means making Grandma’s homemade sticky buns for their breakfast and opening presents on Christmas Eve. I relish seeing their faces as they open their gifts, they are never too old to be my babies. I am off to the Sierras after Christmas and we hope to spend New Year’s in the snowy mountains. I never make New Year resolutions because it simply adds unnecessary stress to my life- I am definitely letting that go!
- Jodi: This winter break I will begin and end every day with a smile focusing on my family and myself, indulging in delicious food, exploring new places and relaxing.
- Chris J: I plan to devote my time over the holidays to finding festive or just plain fun things to do outdoors with my wife and my girls, SLOWING DOWN and connecting with them in ways that we never seem to have the time for during the year.
- Beth: I am spending time with my family at our 23rd annual family reunion ski trip- this year it’s Big Sky Montana!
- Julie S.: My plan for the holidays is to spend meaningful time with my family by going on mini adventures with them! I plan on taking my parents paragliding off the cliffs in Torrey Pines, traveling up the coast to Santa Barbara with my husband, and going whale watching on the America with my sisters. My daughters are dreaming up a mother-daughter adventure that will be a surprise to me! I look forward to an adventurous holiday season.
- Kristine: So very thankful for another amazing year in EUSD! And, always looking forward to supporting the amazing work of our staff!
- Lisa: Holidays are all about family and spending time together. Winter break will be spent relaxing and enjoying a schedule free time with my kids.
- Kathleen: To me, winter break means family time and spending it with my family, as well as my mom and stepdad who come over to spend the holidays with us from Hawaii!
- Anne: I look forward to celebrating with my family on Christmas eve, having my two grown( 26 and 29) children open their stockings on Christmas morning (they still want stockings...) and walking my two dogs in the MORNINGS instead of at night during the vacation. Happy Holidays!
- Leslie Wright: For me, holidays are an excuse to slow down and enjoy the company of my family! This year, we will be spending some time skiing/snowboarding in Montana! How did we pick Montana, you might ask? Well, we literally closed our eyes and pointed to a location within the US.
- Christy: So excited to have a nice long break. For the first time since we were married, Andy and I will both have a week off, at home with the kids home as well. Family Time is the number one priority! We will see the last Star Wars movie, and we are hosting Christmas Eve with family. In the second week I hope to get away with Katie to Palm Springs. Maybe depending on weather I might be able to finish painting the outside of the house.
- Jennifer: For me the holidays are about slowing down and spending quality time with my family. During the winter break I usually cook, play board games, and just hang out with my kids. This year especially I am going to make a point of being present and enjoying my family.
- Rachel B.: Over winter break Owen and I will be making the 8 hour journey up to Napa to spend Christmas with my family. We will be eating tons of good food, drinking Napa Cabernet (Owen will be drinking Shirley Temples), spending time with friends, and anxiously awaiting Santa’s visit to Grammy and Grampa’s house on Christmas Eve. My resolution this year is all about self-care. I am going to make a conscious effort to be selfish and take care of myself the same way I take care of others.
- James: We are having an all airforce Christmas (my wife’s family) – her dad and brother (both Colonels) and our niece who is a Captain will be coming – a house full but so much fun!
- Tami Smith: I plan to spend the first week with our family. The highlight being our 2 year old granddaughter. The second week will be spent recovering from our family and 2 year old granddaughter.
- Julie B.: Snowboarding and hiking Mt. Baldy + lots of yoga, sunsets, quality time with my favorite humans, and lazy mornings filled with coffee and puppy snuggles = Winter Break
